Rex acts like a crazy person and eventually loses hope.

Rex embarks on a relationship with Iago. They're both compatibly evil.

Rex doesn't want to go back to being normal Rex Lewis, nor does he want to be whoever it takes to graduate. He becomes obsessed with escaping the Barge, and so he tries to blow it up, lolz whoops.
